Interested in becoming a host company?

The leading entrepreneurs of today play a critical role in keeping Indiana’s future business market strong by expanding the pool of young managerial talent. The short term benefits to sponsoring Fellows are numerous—namely, companies gain access to the highest caliber talent without significant recruiting demands at a very competitive price point. By making the initial investment in young talent and providing ample opportunities for growth internally, host companies do their part in creating the relationships that will keep Indiana’s brightest minds within the state.

What do we look for in a host company?

To help guarantee the quality of experience all Fellows will receive, host companies must be able to offer the following to their Fellow(s):

  • Delegation of challenging assignments that involve interaction with management and strategic thinking
  • Flexibility for Fellow(s) to attend monthly business leader meetings, recruitment events and other functions, recognizing that such engagements are limited
  • The ability to pay the pre-determined Orr Fellow salary for up to two years
  • Full benefits, as offered to all other employees
  • Payment of an annual Orr Fellow administration fee
  • Interaction between the senior executives and the Fellow(s). This could be as often as day-to-day interaction or as little as monthly breakfast meetings.

What caliber talent do we recruit?

Companies that host a Fellow will be connected to the best and brightest Indiana graduates or natives. All finalists are selected through months of recruitment efforts at colleges across the state, based on feedback from current Fellows, the program directors, and numerous professors and academic advisors. Students must meet the following criteria in order to obtain a first-round interview:

  • Students from all majors with an interest in entrepreneurship
  • Cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or higher are preferred, although candidates with extraordinary leadership experience and a GPA of 3.2 will also be considered
  • Graduation from an Indiana college or university and/or native of the state
  • Demonstrated leadership potential: significant involvement in campus activities, strong work ethic and communication skills, and teamwork orientation
  • Undergraduates only
